An Android device can do far more than you might expect. When connected to a PC, your phone or tablet can even double as a useful peripheral, putting its built-in hardware to work in ways you might not expect. With the right apps and a few simple steps, you can use your Android phone or tablet as a PC microphone and high-quality webcam.
Iriun Webcam
Iriun Webcam focuses on high-resolution video, with the maximum resolution depending on your phone and the version of the app you use. The setup process is similar to the one described earlier. Start by installing the Iriun 4K Webcam app on your Android phone from the Google Play Store.
ext, download and install the corresponding Iriun Webcam client for your computer from thee Iriun website.

Once both apps are running, the phone should connect to the computer automatically over Wi-Fi, as long as both devices are connected to the same network.

Alternatively, you can connect your phone to the computer via USB. A wired connection can provide a more stable connection and may help reduce latency compared with Wi-Fi.
One useful feature of Iriun is that it can continue working even when your phone’s screen is turned off. It also supports pinch-to-zoom and can transmit audio along with video. This means you can use a single app to turn your phone into both a webcam and a PC microphone.
The free version displays a watermark, while features such as manual ISO, exposure, and white balance controls, as well as remote camera control from the desktop, are reserved for the Pro version.

Wireless or Wired Webcam
DroidCam is another app that lets you turn an Android smartphone or tablet into a webcam for your PC. It uses your phone’s camera and microphone and connects to your computer over Wi-Fi or via USB.
The app is free to use with basic features, while the Pro upgrade unlocks additional options and removes the watermark from HD video. DroidCam also provides clients for Windows and Linux.
Step 1
Open the Google Play Store and install DroidCam on your Android device.
Step 2
Next, install the corresponding client on your computer by clicking here.

For the webcam connection, you can use either Wi-Fi or USB. If you choose USB, you’ll need to enable USB debugging under Developer Options.
Step 3
Open the DroidCam app on your Android device. If you’re connecting over Wi-Fi, note the IP address displayed in the app.

On your computer, open the DroidCam Client. Select Wi-Fi, enter the IP address in the Device IP field, and start the connection. Your phone and computer need to be connected to the same network.
You can also use your phone as a PC microphone. To do this, enable the Audio option when adding the DroidCam source. The phone’s microphone will then be available to your computer as the DroidCam Audio input device.

Once connected, your Android device can be used as a webcam for video calls and video recording on your computer. Image and audio quality depend on your phone, connection, and app settings.
Using Your Phone as a Wired or Wireless PC microphone
There are several apps available on the Google Play Store, but the free WO Mic from Wolicheng Tech is one of the simplest ways to turn an Android phone into a PC microphone.
The company also provides the required Windows software and driver. Once everything is installed, you can connect your phone to your computer via USB, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.

Step 1
To use your phone as a wired or wireless PC microphone, start by installing the required WO Mic software.
First, install the free WO Mic app on your Android device from the Google Play Store.
Step 2
Next, you may need to install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x86) if it isn't already installed on your system. This runtime is required for the WO Mic Client to work properly.
Step 3
Finally, install the WO Mic Client on your computer. The installer includes the client and the required virtual microphone driver.

It’s also a good idea to set WO Mic to start automatically with Windows if you want the PC microphone to be available without launching the app manually each time.
Once the required software is installed, you can use your Android phone as a PC microphone over USB, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
Step 4
Open WO Mic on your Android device, then go to Settings > Transport and select Wi-Fi. This is one of the quickest and easiest ways to get started.

Next, select the appropriate audio source. In most cases, this will be your Android phone's built-in microphone.

You can also adjust the control and media port settings, but there’s no need to change them for a standard setup.
As mentioned earlier, you can also use your phone as a PC microphone over Bluetooth. If you prefer a USB connection, first enable USB Debugging under Developer Options. You'll also need the appropriate USB driver for your phone.
If Developer Options aren't visible, go to Settings > About phone and tap Build number seven times. Android will then enable Developer Options, where you can turn on USB Debugging.
Step 5
Go back to the main WO Mic screen and tap the Start button to launch the server. The app will then display the IP address you’ll need to connect your phone to your PC over Wi-Fi.

Step 6
Open WO Mic Client on your computer and select Connection > Connect.

Select Wi-Fi as the transport method, enter the IP address shown in the Android app, and click Connect. Make sure your phone and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Once the connection is established, WO Mic will appear in Windows as a virtual microphone device that you can use as an audio input in compatible applications..
If you want to verify that everything is working correctly, go to Options > Play in speaker in the WO Mic Client. This lets you hear the incoming audio directly through your computer's speakers.

From this point on, you can use your phone for voice searches in Chrome, voice calls, recordings, and other tasks that require a standard microphone input.
Once the connection is established, WO Mic appears in Windows as a virtual microphone device. The Android app must remain active to continue streaming audio from the phone’s microphone.
Once you’ve confirmed that the audio is working, you can use your phone as a PC microphone with virtually any compatible application.
Make Your Phone Work as a Webcam and PC Microphone
Using your Android phone as a webcam or PC microphone is a simple way to make use of hardware you already have. With the right app, you can get better video or audio without buying additional equipment. For occasional video calls, meetings, or recordings, it’s a practical and flexible solution that works over Wi-Fi or USB.
