What is Cards Against Humanity?
Cards Against Humanity is a party game, with a simple premise: on each round a black card poses a fill-in-the-blank statement or a question for all the participants.
Each player has ten white cards with random "answer" phrases, and must select one of them to complete the statement. The funniest combination of each round wins a point.
The title of the game is a wordplay on "crimes against humanity", and many of the combinations are as politically incorrect as possible. It's no accident that the game advertises itself as "A party game for horrible people".
Currently, the Cards Against Humanity Store only supports sales to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. However, anyone can legally download the cards for free, and print them themselves, since Cards Against Humanity is available under a Creative Commons license.
The particular type of Creative Commons license allows us to use, remix, and share the game for free, but not to sell it without the license holder's permission.
How to play Cards Against Humanity online
To play Cards Against Humanity online, we just need to visit http://www.cardsagainstoriginality.com/.
We can either select to play with our friends or enter a random game online with strangers.
The "Play in person" option will create a special URL to invite our friends.
Even though we still need internet access for the "Play in person" mode, it is designed for people that are in the same room, and use their smartphones or tablets instead if printed cards. So, it doesn't have a chat room or player nicknames, like the "Play online" option.
If we choose to play online, we can join a random public game, spectate a random public game or create a private online game, this time with chat and nicknames.
On each round, one player is the judge, and the rest of the players have 60 seconds to select the best response from their ten cards. If a player doesn't choose a card for two consecutive rounds, they are kicked off the room.
The players became judges in alphabetic order. On the round that we are the judge, we just wait for the other players' responses.

There is no point in comparing playing Cards Against Humanity at home with friends and playing online; it is an entirely different experience. That said, Cards Against Humanity online is a fun way to kill some time.
