How to make the perfect mobile playlist with Splyce
We can download and install Splyce for free, both on Android and iOS. It's a small app, currently less than 9MB for the Android version that we tried.
The interface is simple enough. We just click on the big + icon to select songs from our music library.
After we select the appropriate tab (Artists, Songs, Albums, Playlists), we can tap individual songs to add to the playlist. We can also tap the square on the upper right corner to select all the songs on screen.
To confirm the selection, we use the check mark "✓" on the top left corner.
Selecting the mobile playlist options
The main playlist interface has six icons that allow us to control the playlist.
On "Mix Mode" we will find three options. "All by myself" won't take BPM into account. With "Follow the leader", the first song's BPM will set the beat for the playlist. The default is "I'll follow you", where every song tries to adapt to the next one.
The "Length" option decides how long we will listen to every song on the playlist. The default is 60 seconds, and we can take it up to 240 seconds before we select Full.
"Mix Time" controls the transition time from one song to the next.
Finally, on the "Order" option the default is the "Harder, Better, FASTER, Stronger" mobile playlist, where every song has a faster beat than the previous one. The "Falling Slowly" option that is the exact opposite. Or we can arrange the songs manually to our liking.
The other two options are aesthetic. The "Color" will change the app's interface, in case we don't like purple and prefer shades of green or some other arrangement.
Finally, the "Lighting" option, which is disabled by default, will make our smartphone or tablet screen flash to the playing song's tune. As you can imagine, this can kill the battery pretty fast, so don't try it if you don't have access to a charger at the time.
Did you like the mobile playlist Splyce creates?
An automated app will never create a playlist like a talented DJ would. Even so, Splyce works very well for anyone who doesn't have any mixing experience.
