For all it's usefulness, technology can frustrate us at times whether we are a novice or an experienced user. On PCsteps, we will guide you through every aspect of the hardware and the software, with simple and comprehensive how-to guides, one step at a time.

Welcome to PCsteps
Hi, I'm Angelos Kyritsis.
As Douglas Adams wrote in The Salmon of Doubt, "We are stuck with technology when what we really want is just stuff that works."
Here at PCsteps, our goal is to make the complex simple and the simple easy. We are writing for the amateurs, the hobbyists, and the professionals alike.
Even though this is a new website, this isn't our first tech blog. Our original site, pcsteps.gr, launched in 2009, has now more than 1 million monthly pageviews, making it among the 300 (give or take 10) most visited websites in Greece according to Alexa.com.
But it is - as literally as it gets - all Greek to you.
On PCsteps, we will be covering everything and anything technology related, from how to create a Facebook account, to how to recompile the kernel for Arch Linux and everything in-between.
You will find guides for simple and complicated tasks on Windows, Linux, Mac OS, Android, and iOS; detailed troubleshooting for hardware and software issues; in-depth presentations of apps and web services, and great tech deals from across the web.
It's a journey of a thousand posts. And it begins with this one.
P.S.: As this is our first day, should you encounter any problems whatsoever with the website's functionality on any modern browser, let us know in the comments section, and we'll iron it out.
PPS: As you have probably guessed from my name, English isn't my first language. So, if anything doesn't make much sense, or I ever mistake their, there, and they're, feel free to correct me. I won't hold it against you. Not too much.

Bravo Angelos! But if you can, keep writing regularly in the greek blog.

You had the opportunity to write "First", and literally be the first ever, and you didn't take it. This shows a man of character ;-)
yolo ;)

We are not export only sea and sun from Greece. There are Ethos, Culture, Knowledge and Humanism in our life. Angelos Kyritsis, the Editor of this site, has all of them.
Well done Angelos!
Thank you for your kind words, Kostas.
I have got to say, the "sign up for my mailing list" popup is the slickest I've EVER seen. I like the little spinning "X", and how the whole thing melts when you click the "no" button. Yeah, I did click "no". My e-mail folder has 5,000 unread messages ("yeah, I'll read that one day. Better save it") already.
Glad you liked it, Andy. It really caught our attention when we first saw it as an option.
Few things are as annoying as a website that uses low to no contrast colours, making TITLES impossible for me to read.
A light yellow headline on white?
I cannot read it.
I'm sure I'm not the only one... and even if I am, why design something that absolutely increases eye strain and makes it tough to read?
I doubt if low contrast colours are the ONLY way to make this site "appealing".
I honesty have no idea what you are talking about. Can you provide a screenshot? Because we are not using light yellow for any of our post titles. Just plain black on a white background.
It looks like orange and it is very hard to read around a white tile, I am also having problems with this. It can be seen here:

I see. We will look into it.
I see what you mean. We have changed it, it should be better now.
