For most users, the answer to "Who unfriended me on Facebook?" is "Who cares?". Some users, however, do care who unfriended them, and there are too many scams which take advantage of them. Now, there is a perfectly safe solution to know who unfriended us on Facebook.

Install the "Who Deleted Me" extension
The app we will use is named "Who Deleted Me", maybe because "Who Unfriended Me" was taken. Or because they scored the deleted.io domain instead of the unfriended.me, and decided to run with that.
When this service started, it was a Facebook app. However, in April 2015 Facebook screwed them over, by removing the Facebook app's ability to see a user's friend list.
Any "who unfriended me" app works in a simple way: it has an early list of our Facebook friends, compares it with a current list, and thus deduces who unfriended us.
Not exactly rocket science, but Facebook's new policy does destroy the "seeing the friend list" element.
Now, the "Who Deleted Me" guys are back, not with a new Facebook app, but with extensions for the three major browsers, and apps for iOS and Android.
How to see who unfriended me with this app
First, we install the extension or app of our choice. For the example we will install the Chrome Extension in Windows.
Then, we click on the app's icon on the browser...
...or the new icon that has appeared within our Facebook account.
Either of those icons will will take us to http://deleted.io/app and start reading our Facebook friends data.
The service has become pretty famous the past few days, and their hosting had trouble handling the load.
If you get an error message, just click "Check again", or try a bit later.
Eventually, the app will work and it will create the first list with our Facebook friends.
As the app explains, if this list is shorter than it shows on Facebook, it is because Facebook also counts deactivated accounts, but "Who Deleted Me" only shows active accounts.
Once somebody unfriends us, we will see their name on http://www.deleted.io/app/whatsnew.
We will also find here people that we have unfriended. In this case, we click "I deleted".
It stands to reason that Deleted.io can't read the past. It will only start monitoring our account after we have installed the browser extension or the app, and find from then on who unfriended us on Facebook.
Did you find Deleted.io useful?

I had this extension on my Mac when it was supposedly disabled. Several days later it started working again, until last month when my Mac died... I'm trying to find an extension of it for my laptop, but have been unsuccessful...
